Stride to Pride: 5K Run/Walk
What better way to kick off Pride weekend than with a beautiful sunset 5K along the waterfront of Lake Champlain?!
This first annual event, presented by Pride Center of Vermont will celebrate the joy of the LGBTQ and allied community through fun and fitness! Everyone is welcome to join us in celebration. All proceeds benefit the work of the Pride Center of Vermont.
Starting at 6 pm in Battery Park this course will be mostly flat or downhill, with one incline near the end. Water stations are available during the course with water and snacks at the end. This race will not be officially timed, but there will be prizes for the top 3 runners and top 3 walkers (walkers defined as always having 2 feet on the ground throughout the course). We will also be offering a prize for “Most Prideful” costume!
All participants will receive an awesome Stride to Pride t-shirt as well as custom finishers medal. Additionally everyone will receive a token for the “OUT on Church Street” event, allowing you 10% off food, drinks and merchandise from participating retailers on Church Street Marketplace all weekend of Pride! Additional tokens for supporters will be for sale at the event for $10 each.
While registration will be open until the event, only people registering by September 1st, 2014 will be guaranteed a t-shirt and finishers medal. All participants will receive an OUT on Church Street token and will be eligible for prizes regardless of registration date.
The cost is $35 per person, this includes the shirt, medal and OUT on Church Street token.
