Know Your Rights in the Workplace!
Making ends meet can mean something unique and different to everyone, and especially for young, queer folks, we might employ more than one strategy to survive and thrive. No matter whether you’re bussing tables, snag a paid internship at a doctor’s office, hustle doing odd jobs, or babysitting under the table, everyone still has rights. This coming Wednesday, January 17 at 6:30pm we’ll be talking about what your rights are in the work place – even those a little more informal – and what you can do if you feel like your rights are being violated.
This presentation and question period will cover what your rights are, especially for LGBTQ/trans/gender non-conforming folks, what a violation of that looks like, what trafficking is and how it fits, and what you can do if you think you’re in a situation and need some support. No matter who you are, where you work, or how you hustle – you can’t demand rights unless you know them first!
