LIGHT CLUB!! LIT CLUB!! LAMP SHOP!! THIS MONDAY!! We will fill the room with LOVE!! STARTING AT 7 PM TO ACCOMMODATE All the beauty!! We are thrilled to celebrate pride with a night of powerful poetry by some of Burlington's most badass and outspoken poets! We are lucky to have a long night featuring poets Alison Prine, Shawn Corey, Chris Vicarro, Lauren Bender and others! Bring your brothers, sisters, mothers, friends, lovers, neighbors, cousins......Bring your people! It's going to be beautiful. Poetry. People. With Pride.
ALISON PRINE’s poems have appeared in The Virginia Quarterly Review, Shenandoah, Harvard Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Prairie Schooner, among others. Her debut collection of poems, Steel, was chosen by Jeffrey Harrison for the Cider Press Review Book Award and was published in January 2016. She lives in Burlington, Vermont where she works as a psychotherapist.
CHRIS VACARRO is a senior lecturer at UVM with expertise in Tolkein, Linguistics, Old English, British Literature.
SHAWN COREY is a gender nonconforming transfeminine poet and performance artist in Burlington Vermont. Her work focuses on gender expression, sexuality, perception and being in a trans body.
LAUREN BENDER is the editor-in-chief of Mud Season Review. She is a graduate of Green Mountain College where she earned her BFA in Writing and served as co-editor of the literary magazine Reverie. Her poetry has appeared in IDK Magazine, Tulane Review, The Collapsar, Gyroscope Review, Pittsburgh Poetry Review, Yes Poetry, and others.
